Building Green

Overview

Since 1992 Argenta CDC has been dedicated to creating safe thriving neighborhoods in North Little Rock through affordable housing development and by providing quality homeownership counseling to residents throughout Central Arkansas.

As part of our mission we’ve recognized an obligation to use a more sustainable approach with our development practices. Thus, we launched Building Green in 2007. Building Green is a highly successful partnership between Argenta CDC and the Arkansas Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council to design, construct and promote affordable energy efficient homes for low-to-moderate income families.

Homes in this project have earned a Gold LEED-H® designation by the national US Green Building Council. Our homes were the first residential structures in Arkansas to earn a such a distinction. Launched as a pilot program in 2005, LEED-H® is a green home ratings system with rankings from certified to platinum that assures residents that their homes are designed and built to be energy and resource efficient and healthy.
