Affordable Housing

Our organization’s history is one of making homeownership possible for more people by rehabilitating, designing and building quality homes at affordable prices. Our development approach has earned national recognition from Met Life, HGTV, National Historic Preservation and HUD. Most importantly, we have transformed lives and communities through our mission.

In 2007 we launched Building Green, a highly successful initiative in partnership with the U.S. Green Building Council-Arkansas Chapter. Building Green represents a new era in our construction practices, integrating affordable housing with environmental sustainability and energy efficiency. The homes in this project are designed, built and are constructed of high-performance features that will:

  • save the homeowner money
  • provide a healthier indoor environment
  • require less maintenance
  • have a positive impact on the environment

Selling price for the homes begin at $96,500. Various assistance programs are available to those who qualify.

Rental Properties

Since 1992 we have acquired and restored 87 properties in the neighborhood Argenta neighborhood. Thirty-one of these are single family homes and duplexes rented to low-to- moderate income families. Our homes are very popular and have a 99% occupancy rate.

In 2002 we completed Argenta Square, a 56 unit apartment complex in the heart of downtown North Little Rock financed with historic preservation and low income housing tax credits. The apartments have a 99% occupancy rate. The majority of the units are leased to low-to-moderate income households.

Market Rate Properties

In 2008 we will begin construction on two condominiums, our first market rate project. These 2600 square foot luxury residences feature two levels, four bedrooms, two and half bathrooms, game and loft area, Energy Star appliances, numerous “green” features, 10- foot ceilings, walk-in closets and more. Located in the historic Argenta neighborhood, our condos are within walking distance to a vibrant downtown, shopping, parks, entertainment and restaurants. Selling price begins at $225,000.

Commercial Properties

In addition to residential development, Argenta CDC is engaged in commercial property rehabilitation as a community revitalization tool. The CDC has purchased, restored and sold two major properties in downtown North Little Rock, including our current office. In 2008 Argenta CDC will begin research and acquisition on a commercial property for mixed use ´┐Żoffice space, retail and residential.
